We are currently looking for a communicative & driven

ACCOUNT MANAGER

to join our team at the Central Post office in the heart of Rotterdam.


Working within a growing Account Management team, our new Account Manager, will promote our high-quality edible oils and fat products to customers of an assigned region or portfolio. You will play an important role in retaining the existing client portfolio and key customers, as well as actively generate new business opportunities. Your main responsibility is to develop a reliable and long-term, trusting relationships with our customers.

Job requirements

What the role entails:

  • Manage customer relationships throughout the complete cycle

  • Be the lead point-of-contact for all assigned customer account management matters

  • Assist in finding the balance between filling capacity, optimizing profits and product split

  • Negotiating contracts

  • Follow up on open contracts book, budgets and payments where applicable

  • Make connections with key stakeholders

  • Visiting both existing and potential customers within given assigned portfolio

  • Conduct market studies to enhance potential sales opportunities

  • Clearly communicate the progress of initiatives to management on a regular basis

  • Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g. quarterly sales results and annual forecasts)

  • Prepare reports on account status

  • Work with the team to identify and grow new opportunities

To excel in this role, you bring:

  • A bachelor's degree (HBO) in sales, communications or related field

  • Min. 3 years of relevant work experience as an Account Manager, Key Account Manager or similar role

  • A good understanding and/or experience of/in the edible oils or food industry

  • Fluency in English & German (any additional European language is a plus)

  • Experience with CRM, ERP software and MS Office

  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation abilities

  • Strong communication skills

  • Proactive mindset and ability to work independently

  • Willingness to travel between NL (driver’s license required) & occasionally Germany/northern Europe
