Process Engineer

For our plant in Zaandam, we are looking for a proactive and hands-on Process Engineer.

As our new Process Engineer, you will work with your colleagues in production to ensure that all installations are in optimal technical condition and meet all production requirements by performing daily corrective, preventive and periodic maintenance.
You will work at our brand-new plant in Zaandam, here we have a packaging hall where our edible oil is packed. Officially you are part of the maintenance team at Vondelingenplaat but you work completely independently at our location in Zaandam. However, there is plenty of room to link up with the maintenance team if necessary.

Olenex supplies an extensive portfolio of high-quality edible oils and fats to customers across the globe. Thirteen refineries, located in strategic locations in Europe, produce a range of liquid as well as tropical oils. Your responsibilities:

Together with your colleagues you perform corrective, preventive and planned maintenance according to the maintenance plan. Through daily inspections you prevent production downtime and solve repairs where necessary. 

In addition, you supervise various projects and draw up improvement plans where necessary.

• You supervise the execution of work by contractors on quality and costs;
• Check the plant daily on performance and technical issues, handle and troubleshoot occurring issues and situations and communicate plant performance and findings to the Production Manager;
• You keep records of work performed, delivery of completed work, technical documentation and specifications;
• You improve and draft preventive maintenance plans;
• Develop, update, and evaluate process engineering concepts (such as P&ID’s (piping instrumentation diagrams), PFD’s (process flow diagrams) and system designs including cost estimates and schedules;
• Structure process improvement proposals and guide these proposals to successful completion, and draft SOP’s (standard operation procedures) under the supervision of the production manager;
• Where necessary, you order materials within budget and after approval from immediate supervisor.

Who are you?

• You are a team player, service oriented and you think safety is important. During your work you have an eye for detail and are solution oriented. You are technically skilled and preferably have worked on a production site before.
• Intermediate vocational education level 4 or equivalent through experience;
• Experience as a Service Mechanic/Service Technician for at least 2 years on a production site;
• You perform all activities according to safety, health and environmental regulations (HACCP, GMP) and quality rules and guidelines to prevent incidents and accidents;
• Efficient with SAP and MS Office;
• Certified VCA-full;
• Certified in NEN 3840 for low and high voltage.
• Communicative strong, good command of English and Dutch language in word and writing.
