Data Governance Coordinator

to join our team at the Central Post office in the heart of Rotterdam.

As Data Governance Coordinator, you drive, coordinate, and enforce data governance across the organization. Acting as the bridge between Business, IT, and Compliance, you ensure that data is high‑quality, well‑managed, secure, and used responsibly. Your work supports a reliable, compliant, and future‑ready data landscape that enables strong decision‑making and efficient processes.

Job requirements

What the role entails:

  • Lead end‑to‑end activities for data cleansing, enrichment, harmonization, validation, and migration across all in‑scope master data objects, ensuring high‑quality, load‑ready datasets for S/4HANA

  • Own the full data migration lifecycle, including mapping, transformation, extraction, load‑file preparation, conversion cycles, reconciliation, and defect resolution

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all data‑related matters with ongoing updates on readiness, risks, and mitigation plans

  • Establish and operationalize the data governance framework—policies, processes, data ownership models, stewardship practices, and continuous improvement

  • Collaborate with Trading, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, and Sustainability to standardize master data processes and ensure alignment with governance principles

  • Act as internal SME for SAP MDG and related data tools, supporting enhancements, change requests, process optimization, and lifecycle governance

  • Ensure readiness and alignment of data requirements for new business units, product lines, and future systems or cloud modules

  • Manage and administer Microsoft Purview, including classification, sensitivity labeling, cataloging, lineage, and governance alignment across Business and IT

  • Develop and maintain Microsoft 365 retention policies, retention labels, lifecycle controls, and regulatory retention compliance

  • Work closely with the Application Team to embed data governance requirements into application design, integrations, enhancements, and lifecycle processes

  • Provide governance oversight for system changes, new implementations, and upgrades, ensuring alignment with enterprise data standards and Purview policies

To excel in this role, you bring:

  • BSc or Master’s degree in IT or relevant studies with proven professional experience of min. 5 years

  • Experience leading workstreams in major ERP transformations (preferably S/4HANA)

  • Track record of managing SAP MDG implementations across the organization

  • Background in designing or operating data governance frameworks, policies, stewardship models, and continuous improvement

  • Experience working with IT compliance and security functions on Purview

  • Strong affinity for data and technology

  • Ability to explain complex topics to all levels

  • Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills; across all management levels

  • Ability to bring clarity, structure, and direction to complex situations

  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills

  • Proactive problem‑solver with an improvement mindset

  • Ability to lead onboarding, training, and change‑management activities related to data governance and master data

Technical Qualifications we are looking for:

  • Deep hands‑on expertise with SAP MDG on S/4HANA, including Fiori apps, MDG Consolidation, key mapping, value mapping, and master data configurations

  • Proven experience in S/4HANA migration projects (transformation, mapping, extraction, load preparation, mock conversions, validation)

  • Strong experience in data cleansing, harmonization, consolidation, governance, and master data design principles

  • Solid grounding in data governance frameworks, stewardship models, and organizational data processes

  • Understanding of data needs across Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Trading, and Sustainability

  • Experience with Microsoft Purview (classification, labeling, cataloguing, lineage)

  • Experience managing retention policies, retention labels, and information lifecycle management frameworks
